Southern Buttermilk Pie

buttermilk pieButtermilk Pie is a classic dessert here in the south. This recipe will make a delicous dessert at your next dinner 🙂

Let’s Get Baking!

You will need:

1 & 1/2 cups of White Sugar

4 Eggs beaten

2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract

1 cup of Buttermilk

1 stick of Butter melted

1 Pie Crust or you can make your own

1 tablespoon of All-Purpose Flour

Directions:

Pre-Heat oven to 350F.  Fit pie crust to a 9 inch glass pie plate and pinch the edges for the design or use a pie crust that comes in the aluminum pans from your local grocery store. Or you can make your own pie crust. Cook pie crust for about 10 minutes until golden brown and then let cool. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, butter, sugar, flour, buttermilk and vanilla extract together. Pour into pie crust. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool and serve with cool whip.
