Country Green Beans & New Potatoes

Green BeansLet’s Get Cooking!

You will need:

4-5 Large Potatoes diced (you can leave the skin on or peel them)

1/2 stick of Butter

1 small Onion diced

1 cup of Cooked Bacon chopped and some of the bacon drippings (I cook my bacon in the oven because it becomes really crispy that way).

2 Large cans of Whole Green Beans with juice (do not strain)

1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder

Pinch Salt & Black Pepper for taste

Directions:

Boil potatoes in a large pot of water for about 10-15 minutes until tender and strain. Salt the water in the pot with the potatoes. In a soup pot, sauté onions for 1-2 minutes until tender with a little bit of bacon grease from the bacon. Stir in bacon, butter, green beans and potatoes. Season with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Turn on low heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve with your favorite southern dish.
