My Childhood Favorite: No Bake Cookies

20150120_162309No Bake Cookies were the first cookie I learned to make as a child. I made them nearly every weekend at my grandparents. They were my favorite cookie, and they still are today. These cookies are easy and quick. They have a nice chocolate peanut butter taste and great texture with the oats. Your children will love these with a glass of milk.

Let’s Get Cooking:

You will need:

2 cups of Sugar

½ cup unsalted Butter

½ cup Milk

4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup peanut butter

3 cups of Quick Oats

1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

Pinch of Salt

Directions:

In a pot, add butter, milk, sugar, cocoa and salt. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute and stir continuously. Remove from heat and add quickly the peanut butter and vanilla. Mix well, then gradually add the oats until all mixed. This has to be a quick process. Place spoonfuls of the cookie mixture out on to wax paper. Let cool for about 30 minutes and then they are ready to eat.

Enjoy!
