Southern Deep-Fried Pickles

Need a Sunday Football Snack? How about some Deep-Fried Pickles?

Let’s Get Cooking!

You Will Need:

1 (32 oz) Jar of Dill Pickle Slices and drain the juice

2 cups of All-Purpose Flour

2 teaspoons of Cajun Seasoning

1 teaspoon of Paprika

1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder

1/2 teaspoon of Onion Powder

1 cup of Buttermilk

2 Eggs

4-5 dashes of Hot Sauce

Salt for taste

Oil for frying (peanut oil is the best, but any oil can be used)

Pre-Heat oil to 375F. Whisk eggs, buttermilk and hot sauce together and toss pickles in it. In another bowl, whisk flour, cayenne pepper, cajun seasoning, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder. Coat pickles in egg mixture and then coat them in the flour mixture. Shake off excess flour, but make sure the pickles are well coated in the flour mixture. Drop a few pickle slices at a time into the deep fryer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until light brown and crispy. Strain on a paper towel to remove excess grease. Lightly salt and serve with dipping sauce.
