Homemade Lasagna

This lasagna is a great meal for a large family or left overs the next day.

Let’s Get Cooking!

You will need:

12 Lasagna Noodles cooked and strained

1 pound of Italian Sausage

1 pound of Ground Beef

1 Bell Pepper diced

1 small Onion diced

1/4 cup of Fresh Basil Leaves chopped

2 Garlic Cloves minced

2 teaspoons of Italian Seasoning

4 cups of Mozzarella Cheese

2 cups of Ricotta Cheese

Shredded Parmesan for topping

4 cups of Pasta Sauce (can be homemade or store bought)

Optional: (1/2 cup of Mushrooms)

Directions:

In a large skillet, brown Italian sausage and ground beef until done with 1 tablespoon of oil. When beef/sausage is almost done, add Garlic, Pepper, Italian Seasoning, Onion, Basil and Mushroom if using. Cook until meat is done and vegetables are almost tender. In a large casserole dish, place a layer of 3 lasagna noodles, some meat/veggies, some sauce and on top some cheese (ricotta and mozzarella). Repeat these layers 4 times until all the ingredients are used. Top the lasagna with extra mozzarella and parmesan.  Cover and bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle the top with some fresh chopped parsley. Serve with Garlic Bread and Salad.
