My nana makes the best cornbread dressing. I always look forward to the holidays at her house. This is my take on the recipe. I have been meaning to publish some of my food videos. This is my first attempt with a new app I’m using, therefore there are a few glitches in the video. But, with time I should be able to have better quality videos and photographs for my blog. This a delicious cornbread dressing that is similar to my mom’s and nana’s recipes. We always have this meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Lets’s Get Cooking!
You will need:
4-5 cups of Cornbread crumbled and cooled
2 and 1/2 cups to 3 cups of Chicken or Turkey Broth (the best broth is the drippings from the pan after cooking the meat)
3 pieces of Wheat Bread toasted and cubed
1/2 cup of Celery chopped
1 teaspoon of Garlic minced
1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup
3 Eggs beaten
1-2 teaspoons of Ground Sage (I sometimes add more) 🙂
1/2 cup of Butter melted
3/4 cup Onion diced
1-2 cups of Shredded and Cooked Turkey or Chicken (optional)
Salt and Black Pepper for taste
Mix all ingredients into a large bowl until a soupy batter like consistency develops and pour into a greased 9inch casserole dish. Cover with foil and back at 375F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with gravy.
