Apple Pie Scones

My husband loves apple pie and since I am in a Irish cooking mood, I decided to make apple pie scones for his breakfast this morning.

Let’s Get Cooking!

You Will Need:

2 cups of All-Purpose Flour

1 teaspoon of Baking Powder

1 teaspoon of Baking Soda

1 can of Apple Pie Filling

1/2 cup of Heavy Cream

1 stick of Butter cubed

1 Egg

2 tablespoons of Sugar

2 tablespoons of Brown Sugar

1 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon


In a kitchen aid mixer, use your dough hook and lightly mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, sugar and brown sugar. Gradually mix in the butter until a crumby appearance forms. Then add the heavy cream, egg and 3/4 cup of Apple Pie Filling. The dough will be a slightly sticky. Place the dough on a flour coated counter top and knead the dough a few times until it feels similar to a bread dough that isn’t sticky. Form into a 1 inch thick circle and cut the diagonal scone shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 375F for about 12-15 minutes. Before serving, heat the rest of the apple pie filling until warm. Slice the scone in half and place a scoop or two into the middle of the scone on a plate. Glaze the scone and serve.
