Chocolate gravy is a staple in the south. I grew up eating it all my life. Southerners will tell you this is the best kind of gravy. Give it a try.

Let’s Get Cooking!

You Will Need:

1/2 stick of Unsalted Butter

3 tablespoons of Cocoa

3 tablespoons of All-Purpose Flour

4-5 tablespoons of Sugar

1 and 1/2 cups of Milk

Directions:

Melt butter in a skillet. Once butter is melted, add cocoa, flour and sugar. Whisk for 1 minute on a medium heat until all ingredients are well combined. Keep whisking and increase the heat to medium-high.  Slowly whisk in the milk. The gravy will be runny at first. But, keep whisking until a thick gravy forms. If gravy is too thick, add a little more milk and whisk. Once gravy is formed, quickly remove from the heat source to keep from scorching the gravy. Serve over hot biscuits.

Enjoy!
